Степень точности значения индекса (index-number) как соизмерителя соотношения уровня национальных цен единого набора товаров и услуг сравниваемых стран. Условность величины этого показателя зависит: 1) от представительности набора ("корзины")товаров с точки зрения их типичности для национальной экономики и международной сравнимости потребительских свойств (sampling distribution applies to international comparison); 2) правильного распределения товаров-представителей по пересчетным товарным группам как результата обобщения национальных статистических данных в соответствии с едиными экономическими классификаторами; 3) соблюдения одинаковых принципов подбора индивидуальных цен по взаимосогласованному списку товаров-представителей; 4) применения наиболее целесообразных способов (выбор формул и системы весов) исчисления паритетов покупательной способности валют.
